Why Sell Popcorn as Your Unit Money Earning Activity?
-
Its Easy. The Trail’s End program is designed to be simple and easy to administer. The basic premise of the program is for Scouts, Scouters and families to take orders, the distribute the products to the customers.
- One Fundraiser for the Entire Year. With Trail’s End popcorn and the Ideal Scouting Year concept, you can plan on doing just one fundraiser to meet all of your Scouting needs. For example, Troop 363 of the DeLeon District sold $22,434 worth of popcorn in 2006. Of that they were able to keep $8,203 to meet their needs for a very active year through just one fundraiser, and Pack 296 in the Gulf Breeze District captured $6,083 in commissions on their sale of $17,80 in popcorn. They did it and you can too! Great sale, great year of Scouting!
- High Commissions. Up to 40% of your sales go directly to your unit This money can be used for camping, for advancements or for any other needs that you may have during your Ideal Year of Scouting.
- No out of Pocket Expenses for Unit. Since all sales are done through orders, there are no up front expenses for the unit.
- Support Your Team. The South Texas Council is committed to making this campaign successful for you and your families. The volunteer and professional support system is extensive and excited to serve.
- High Quality Product. Trail’s End popcorn is part of the Weaver Popcorn Company (established in 1928), which is one of the world’s largest popcorn producers. They are committed to customer satisfaction and to the success of your individual unit campaign. Check them out at www.trails-end.com
- Prize Programs. To help with your campaign, a new and exciting prize incentive program has been developed. This program will help you recognize your Scouts for outstanding sales efforts and will help you realize your goal of an Idea Year of Scouting. Coleman, BSA Scoutstuff.org, Wal-Mart, Games & Gadgets Web gift cards are available, as well as, brand name gifts including Sony, Schrade, Columbia, Phillips and Audiovox.
